Compare Our Dumpster Sizes

The right dumpster size depends on what you are throwing away, how much debris you have and where the dumpster needs to be placed. A small cleanout may only need a 5 yard or 10 yard dumpster. A larger remodel, roofing project or full house cleanout may need a 20 yard or 30 yard dumpster.

Here is a quick comparison of our driveway safe dumpster sizes:

10 Yard Dumpster Sizes in Michigan

10 Yard Dumpster

Prices start at $359

approx. 14 ft x 7 ft x 4 ft

The 10 yard dumpster is a good start when you have more than a few items but not enough debris for a large dumpster. It is also a popular option for those who want a dumpster for a home cleanup.

Dumpster Sizes in Michigan

15 Yard Dumpster

Prices start at $399

approx. 16 ft x 7 ft x 4.5 ft

The 15 yard dumpster works well when your project has furniture, household junk and renovation debris. It is a helpful choice when a 10 yard dumpster is too small but a 20 yard dumpster feels larger.

Driveway Safe Dumpster Sizes in Michigan

20 Yard Dumpster

Prices start at $445

approx. 18 ft x 7 ft x 5 ft

The 20 yard dumpster is for when you are unsure whether a smaller dumpster will hold everything. If your project includes bulky items, multiple rooms or heavier debris, the extra room can help.

What Can Go in Our Dumpsters?

Our driveway safe dumpsters are commonly used for household junk, furniture, garage cleanout debris, basement cleanout debris, remodeling debris, wood, drywall, cabinets, flooring, roofing debris, rental property cleanouts and yard waste where allowed.

Mattresses may cost extra. Roofing shingles in a 5 yard dumpster carry an added fee. Heavy debris or unusual material should be discussed before loading so we can help confirm the right dumpster size and price.

Items not accepted include wet paint, chemicals, solvents, motor oil, gasoline or other liquids, batteries, propane tanks, tires, asbestos containing materials, medical waste and hazardous waste.

If you are unsure about an item, call before placing it in the dumpster.

How to Choose the Right Dumpster Size

Choosing the right dumpster size starts with the type of project you are working on. Think about how much material you have, whether the debris is bulky or heavy and how much space is available for placement.

A smaller dumpster may be enough if you are cleaning out a room, tossing a few bulky items or working on a small outdoor project.

A medium dumpster may be better if you are removing furniture, cleaning out a garage, handling a rental property turnover or doing a bathroom or kitchen update.

A larger dumpster may be needed if you are cleaning out a whole house, removing roofing debris, handling contractor debris or working on a larger remodeling project.

If you are between two sizes, it is usually better to talk through the project before scheduling. Choosing too small can create problems if the dumpster fills before the job is done.
